Extent: One scrapbook.

Thomas Russo was born in Foggia, Italy in 1898. He earned a Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Turin in 1922, and in 1923 emigrated to New York, where he pursued a career as a writer, journalist, radio announcer and professor of Italian, first at Hunter College (since 1927), subsequently at Brooklyn College (since 1931).

This collection consists of a scrapbook of clippings and photographs. The clippings consist of a series of 25 articles written by Thomas Russo in 1932 for the New York Italian language daily, Bolletino della Sera, on the study of Italian in America. The focus is on New York City high-schools and colleges. There are also several photographs of family members. The scrapbook focuses on the study of Italian language in America.
